Douglasville, Georgia – The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County presents its annual Gala and Auction themed, Motown Magic on Saturday, December 1st at the Centre at Arbor Connection starting at 6 pm. “The night of Gala is the night for the Arts Council to celebrate its accomplishments in the past year and to raise needed funds for the upcoming year,” said Emily Lightner, Executive Director of the CAC. The activities will include an elegant meal, silent and active auctions, a photo booth provided by G&E Studios, music by City Beat and dancing to the popular Motown tunes.
Tickets to Motown Magic are $85 each ($80 for CAC members) and tables of 10 are also available for $775. $25 of each ticket is fully tax-deductible as a contribution to the CAC that supports its ongoing educational and artistic programs. The auction items to tempt attendees include tickets to numerous favorite venues such as the Puppetry Center, Theatrical Outfit, Atlanta Shakespeare, the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Many local artists have donated artwork from photographs, art glass to mixed media. Local businesses have offered gift certificates for their products and specialty gift baskets have been created. Temptation will be there for attendees to purchase for themselves or to look for early gift options for others for the holidays!
