January exhibit: Celebrating Artists of Color

Celebrating Artists of Color is the CAC’s annual Black History Month exhibit in collaboration with our satellite, DC Connections, highlighting artwork that explores black identity, uplifts the community or discusses social justice issues. Featuring artists Fabian Williams, Brandon Moultrie, Charlotte Riley-Webb, Lucious Webb, and Dante Yarbrough. This exhibit runs January 16th through February 21st. Opening reception, hosted by DC Connections, is on Saturday, January 27th from 7 – 9 PM.

Gallery exhibit: A Master’s Winter: A Child’s View 2017

The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County presents the annual winter art competition featuring work from Douglas County students from grades kindergarten through twelfth. The show is called A Masters Winter: A Child’s View. Students studied masterpieces throughout art history and were encouraged to parody the artwork by putting a winter seasonal spin on each piece. Gallery Exhibit: Photography: Altered Realities

The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County presents an unusual photography exhibit showcasing three southeastern artists who use their images to depict a world beyond what the camera lens shoots. The show is called “Altered  Realities”. Using unique printing or processing techniques, editing, overlays, and assemblage, photographers David Diodate, Emma Elaine and Lola Scott explore interpret the past and perceptions inside the mind. The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County will exhibit the annual National Open Visual Arts Show or “NOVAS” in September.
