Summer in the South Exhibit @ Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/ Douglas County
Join us as we celebrate Summer in the South Exhibit with artwork featuring Carl Olson, Melody Chambers, Charlise Sprewell, and Ashley Chambers. The exhibit opens on Thursday, May 9th and will remain on view through June 27th.

Hosted by the Sweetwater Camera Club, the Opening Reception will be held Thursday, June May 9th, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Council. Gallery admission, tour, and reception are always free. Special gallery tours are also available by calling the CAC to schedule an appointment – 770.949.2787.

Outside the Lines Exhibit @ Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/ Douglas County

Join us for Folk Art – Outside the Lines, an exhibit celebrating artists self taught artists that create outside the lines. This exhibit showcases artists Lee Laney, Linda Mitchell, Jessica Holt, and Tonia Mitchell.

Opening reception Thursday, July 11th, 6-8 pm, hosted by the Optimist Club of Douglas County. Free and open to the public. The exhibit will run from July 5 – 25th. This exhibit and reception will be running in tandem with A Tiny Fundraiser, our annual 6×6 show to benefit the CAC. That’s two exciting shows under the same roof.

Exhibits at the CAC are a great way to encourage learning outside of the classroom for kids and adults during the summer break. Call today to schedule a guided gallery tour for your group or family.

Open Monday – Friday, 9 am – 4 pm .

A Tiny Fundraiser returns to the Cultural Arts Council in July and August. In partnership with the CAC Satellite organization, The Douglas County Art Guild and Sweetwater Camera Club, each Thursday night the CAC will remain open till 7 pm with great refreshments, drinks, demos, and activities. Come enjoy the fun, relax, and get in touch with your creative side! Free admission & parking.

The Douglas County Art Guild meets the first Tuesday of each month, at St. Julian’s Episcopal Church, 5400 Stewart Mill Rd., Douglasville, GA . The meetings begin at 6:30 pm with show and tell and refreshments, followed at 7 pm with a program and business meeting. Visitors are always welcome!

The Sweetwater Camera Club host a wide variety of interesting, motivating, and educational presentations, competitions, critiques, and exhibits throughout the year. The purpose of the Sweetwater Camera Club, Inc. is to share and promote the art and science of photography in a variety of styles and formats. To provide a forum for photographers of all levels, novice through advanced, and to offer opportunities to share with others their interests, ideas, experience, and passion for the art of photography for the visual education, enjoyment and recreation as individuals, club members, and as a part of the community. www.sweetwatercameraclub.com. Sweetwater Camera Club meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Douglasville Conference Center-Room 1, 6700 Church St, Douglasville. Meeting starts at 7pm.

Join us for “Bobick: Two Generations”, an exhibit celebrating a father and daughter with a creative lineage. Creativity isn’t grown in a vacuum. In some families, it keeps being nurtured through many branches of the tree. This exhibit will feature the creative talents of Bruce & Byrna Bobick.

Opening reception Thursday, August 1st, 6-8 pm, hosted by Beyond the Front Porch. Free and open to the public. This exhibit will run August 1 – 29.
