Douglasville, Georgia – The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County and the Douglas County Department of Parks and Recreation are pleased to offer the fourth annual intensive arts camp at Deer Lick Park, from Monday, April 7th, through Friday, April 11th. Children, 7 – 11 years old, will explore a wide variety of art disciplines including ceramics, design, cartooning and painting with expert and experienced teaching artists.
Campers (a total of 50 can be registered) are divided into five groups of ten by age. Camp begins at 9 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m. Early drop off (8:30 am) and late pick up (5:30 p.m.) can be arranged at no additional fee with the Parks and Recreation staff. Fees for the week are $50 for this first child ($45 for CAC members) with a $5 dollar discount for siblings. Space is limited, so reservations must be made by calling CAC at 770-949-2787 or Deer Lick Park at 770-920-7129.

Daily schedule will include three art making sessions, a morning and afternoon break (snacks provided by Douglas County Department of Parks and Recreation) and lunch (provided by campers). Each artist will work with three groups each day and with each group twice on projects in their discipline. The final day will be spent at the Cultural Arts Center on a camp project with everyone participating and on the display of works to be presented during our Celebration of Achievements, Friday, April 11th,  5 until 6 pm.
