Volunteer Opportunities

At the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County, Inc.

The CAC Curators Club is the docent organization of the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/ Douglas County, Inc.  –new members are always welcomed.

Our “curators” answer the phone, register students for art classes, take reservations for upcoming events, answer questions about our community for visitors and tourists, provide information on our exhibitions and historic house, help with mailings and program promotions, and generally assist the staff with everyday operations of the Cultural Arts Council. Curators Club members are asked to commit a minimum of one volunteer shift of three hours each month; most also volunteer at our special events throughout the year.

Special event volunteers sign up for specific tasks at specific times.  Our annual events with volunteer opportunities include

  • Pioneer Days at Clinton Nature Preserve on Saturday and Sunday during the third weekend in October,
  • Chili Cookoff on the Friday before Halloween on O’Neal Plaza in historic downtown Douglasville,
  • The Empty Bowl Holiday luncheon at the Cultural Arts Center on the third Friday in December, and
  • Taste for Douglasville Arts on the third Saturday in May.
