"The mission of the Grassroots Arts Program is to provide the public with access to the visual, performing and literary arts through community-based organizations which are in tune with local interests and needs. Grassroots grants encourage smaller arts groups to expand or improve their programs, try something different to attract new audiences, and collaborate with artists in designing activities," stated GAP coordinator and teaching artist Mack Porter who will manage the panel process and evaluate funded projects for the Cultural Arts Council.
